n 2013 we asked ourselves what we would do if we won the lottery and we came to the same conclusion that we would want to donate money to water aid to give people easy access to water worldwide. We didn’t buy the winning ticket but we decided to do something about it anyway and so we started the WELL COOL – project.

In 2013 we asked ourselves what we would do if we won the lottery and we came to the same conclusion that we would want to donate money to water aid to give people easy access to water worldwide. We didn’t buy the winning ticket but we decided to do something about it anyway and so we started the WELL COOL – project.

We had 10 committed volunteers on board and we planned 5 floral shows from Nov – Aug in Newton Abbot, Bristol, Manchester, Norwich and Oxford. The shows were a completely new concept involving top Master Florists and Chelsea Floristry medal winners making floral designs on stage, with music and lights to create a mood of Africa.

Our aim was to raise £5000. We collected this money in the following ways:-

£10.00 per ticket (approx 100- 200 people per venue)

holding a raffle upon entrance, (£1.00 per ticket),

having collection buckets at the venue

promotion and advertising before the event giving opportunities to donate to Water Aid.

auctioning off the 9 staged designs after the show.

We raised between us a massive £6714.42 which has gone toward helping finishing off a project in Tanzania. There will be a lot of happy children and adults in the Bahi district who will no longer have to spend most there working day collecting water.

We would love to thank everyone who took part for all their time, creativity, generous gift of flowers and support you gave us over the year, it was such a powerful show both in proving how we can all work together for a great causes and a show to demonstrate the vast talent we have in the Floral world and support we have with great friends.Students SuccessesWe are very proud of our students successes.
