Online Flower Arranging Course

We are thrilled to share our Academy Online Flower Arranging course with you, and we hope you enjoy learning with us!

We will teach you the fundamental techniques and traditional styled designs that we adapt and use in everyday floristry. It’s the perfect introduction to both the hobby of flower arranging and the world of commercial floristry.

Each film gives you step-by-step instructions and can be made over a time scale that suits you. We have given you a list of flowers and sundries that we have used in the films and some alternatives. Please feel free to swap and change for similar shaped material, and where possible use seasonal flowers and foliage.

If our introductory course leaves you as inspired, as we hope it will, you are going to want to develop your skills further. At the Academy, we have courses that can take you all the way from absolute beginner to Master Florist and even RHS Chelsea medallist. See our website for course details at:-

Introduction to the course

We are delighted to have selected 4 designs from our level 2 course, to give you a taster of floristry, all these designs show you different techniques, mechanics, and styles that we use in our classes at our studio and our level 2 online courses.

As floral foam (Oasis and other brands) is causing problems for the environment we are moving away from using them in class, with this in mind we have selected designs that use traditional mechanics such as twigs, pin holders, tied and water designs, which are more eco- friendly and look beautiful in the home.

This course gives you 4 films:

  1. Flower in a vase
  2. Vertical Hand-tied
  3. Twig design
  4. Limited design using a pin holder

Below each film we have given you a buying list for each design, but the best way to use the course is to watch the films and then select flowers that you love from your garden, florist or market and have a go at using them in the design.

Once you have made the design take a photo and upload to the website. When you have uploaded all four designs then send us an email so we can email you a certificate. If you would like some feedback, then please email us 4 low-res photos as we would love to see them and would be happy to give you feedback.,

Before you start, here are a couple of hand-outs giving you information on how to condition flowers and identify poisonous and irritant plant material.
