Welcome to our Autumn term Advanced course
Our part-time Academy Advanced qualification is perfect for those who have completed the Beginner’s Academy Level 2 or for florists eager to elevate their professional skills and creative techniques. If you prefer hands-on learning over paperwork, this course is designed for you.
What Will I Learn?
This advanced course encourages you to develop your unique style with tutor-led techniques and skills to inspire you, focusing on techniques and mechanics to boost your confidence and expertise.
The Academy Advanced qualification mirrors the City & Guilds Level 3 in content but offers a distinctive approach. About 25% of the course involves theory and class discussions to enhance your understanding around thinking about commercial designs, planning and developing skills like sketching. The remaining time is dedicated to practical, hands-on learning. Once you complete all three Advanced courses you do have the opportunity of sitting the Advanced exam.
We follow the European model, emphasizing the mastery of fundamental techniques at beginner and intermediate stages. Our goal is to provide time for you to refine your creative style and explore advanced design ideas and mechanics. Preparing and planning is done prior to the lesson to allow for practical time in the class.

My journey from knowing nothing about flowers (other than they were beautiful)
to being a qualified Level 3 florist, took place at BAFA. I was supported, encouraged, and challenged by a team of dedicated and knowledgeable teachers who helped me at every step. BAFA offers lots of opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge, through classes and through volunteering. I met wonderful fellow students who were a joy to learn with and I now have a network of hugely talented creatives whom I can call on for help, for inspiration, problem-solving, or simply a chat and a laugh!'
