RHS Malvern Flower Show
On Thursday 5th May, the Academy of Floral Art presented a floral showcase of wedding bouquets at the RHS Malvern Flower Show. A beautiful sunny day we arrived by coach with our floral creations and made our way to a designated cabin to get our lovely models in the wedding dresses we had gathered for them to wear, each gown having been carefully chosen to go with each bouquet.
To kick off our event our lovely models stage bombed Alan Titchmarsh who was being interviewed at the time on the main stage and they stayed on stage to chat to him about the Academy of Floral Art and what the students had created and where to find the presentation at the flower show.
We met up with the fabulous Jonathan Moseley, in the very beautiful Villagio Verde, the Gold medal winning ‘Garden of Romance’, which was so beautiful in the sunshine it could have been Greece, even with the most stunning ancient Olive tree in the middle. Here our models were presented by Jonathan Moseley and Academy Tutors who described for the crowds the very beautiful bouquets created by the students of the Academy students.
Each bouquet style is examined and explained in the Academy’s wedding module in each level from beginners to advanced students incorporating different methods of construction, techniques and sources of inspiration. In this case to create this lovely wedding bouquet showcase, specific Royal Brides through history were the focus and how we can use these designs for more contemporary Brides.
